In the deepest part of the ocean, color still exists. It just takes light to find it.

This is what that looks like. A humpback whale glides through the dark mid-water, a diver descending from the surface above, jellyfish drifting between them — one red, two white, catching the blue light. Below all of them: a coral reef in full color. Green anemone, purple coral, orange sea plants, blue sea grass, a clownfish moving through it. In the dark ocean above, none of that color is visible. The lamp changes that. When the light comes on, the reef at the base glows in every color it actually has, and the whale above it moves through the blue like something that has always been there.

The diamond cut catches the light from every facet and throws it across the surface the lamp sits on. In a dark room, the reef colors pool outward onto the desk around it.

Each lamp is made by hand in Hanoi, Vietnam. The whale, diver, jellyfish, seahorse, fish, and coral are positioned inside the diamond-form resin at different depths before the layers are poured around them — the reef built up at the base with real detail, the water clearing toward the surface where the diver enters. The dark wood grain forms the canyon walls on both sides. Because every piece is handmade, the exact placement of each creature, the color of the water, and the light scatter from the cut edges are never identical. What arrives is the only one built exactly this way.
