Product Descriptions
Two astronauts outside the station. Nothing beneath them but the galaxy.
The space station floats in the upper left — solar panels extended, white against the deep blue and purple of the nebula behind it. Two astronauts drift free below it, untethered from each other, both surrounded by asteroid formations and nebula cloud that runs red and violet through the entire scene. The natural wood fills the right side of the gem-cut frame in deep crimson, the same red as the nebula it sits beside, as if the wood itself is part of the galaxy. White light from the base cuts upward through the center of the scene, and the glitter in the resin catches it and scatters it in every direction.
A spacewalk lasts about six to eight hours. For those six to eight hours, the only thing between the astronaut and the rest of the universe is a suit. No walls, no floor, no ceiling. Just the station behind them, getting smaller, and everything else getting larger. This lamp holds that moment — two people outside, the station still close enough to see, the rest of space open in every direction.
Each lamp is made by hand in Hanoi, Vietnam. The space station and two astronaut figures are positioned inside the gem-cut resin form at different depths before the nebula layers are poured around them — red, purple, and deep blue pigment built up in slow passes, glitter scatter added throughout. The natural wood is inlaid on the right side, chosen for its deep red grain that mirrors the nebula color beside it. Because every piece is handmade, the exact spread of the nebula, the position of each astronaut, and the wood grain are never identical. What arrives is the only one built exactly this way.
